Summary

We seek a highly organized, efficient and responsible Project Manager who will lead project/project teams, coordinate project objectives, and integrate project activities across multiple functional lines.

The Project Manager organizes and leads our client, design, capital improvement, and construction projects to their successful conclusion. Skill sets include scope definition and verification, schedule definition and monitoring, budget creation and maintenance, risk analysis and mitigation, change control, quality assurance and project resource leadership.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of administrative expertise, a willingness to work in a team environment, and a continuous drive and dedication for client satisfaction. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate past experiences with projects, and can articulate the steps required to achieve project success as well as assessment of failures.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage all aspects of projects as required, including but not limited to quoting, planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, risk management, safety and quality control.

· Handle multiple projects at the same time throughout the entire lifecycle.

· Successfully estimate, propose, and manage project scope and budget.

· Build and maintain client relationships through ongoing communication and understanding of client goals.

· Manage client expectations and project requirements.

· Manage resource assignments and utilization while coordinating with department managers to ensure schedules stay on time.

· Visit client sites in order to determine project needs.

· Ensure technical reviews are completed as necessary and provide recommendations for design improvements, when required.

· Communicate effectively with contractors responsible for completing various phases of projects.

· Participate in meetings and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.

· Uphold safe work practices and participate in developing and maintaining our culture of safety.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

· Demonstrated use of initiative and pragmatic judgment in problem solving and risk control/assessment.

· Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-task, fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

· Clear, precise and detailed communication skills (speaking, listening, and writing).

· Demonstrated accuracy and efficiency with Microsoft Office Programs – Word, Excel and Project.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Demonstrated understanding of project management fundamentals, ideally has or is pursuing PMP certification or gold seal.

· Functional expertise in architectural and/or mechanical discipline(s) or referential knowledge of process engineering.

· Familiarity with NBC, ABC or OBC building codes.

· Any other duties as required.

Education/Experience

· Post-secondary diploma, certificate, or degree.

· Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in a related field.

· Experience in a consulting environment.

· Experience in the food, beverage, and/or pharmaceutical industries is an asset.

· Experience in the cannabis industry is an asset.

· A valid driver’s license and ability to travel as dictated by project requirements.

This Project Manager will be working on design/build, custom residential and commercial renovation projects and direct the elevated experience from project estimation, bidding, through pre-construction, project launch, execution and closeout with the highest level of excellence. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of trade contractors of different disciplines to achieve the desired results.</p><p><b>Primary Job Responsibilities:</b></p><p>• Perform on-site, daily job site visits. Remote based role, heavy travel involved.</p><p>• Develop and maintain strong, productive trade partner and vendor relationships.</p><p>• Collaborate with engineers and architects to determine all specifications of the project.</p><p>• Review and understand architectural and engineering drawings.</p><p>• Provide daily, on-site, project management and be responsible for all aspects of the project.</p><p>• Negotiate all trade and vendor pricing per project to reach profitable agreements.</p><p>• Determine needed site resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to the project budget.</p><p>• Plan all construction operations and schedule all work on-site to ensure deadlines will be met.</p><p>• Assist in ordering materials and supplies.</p><p>• Schedule deliveries on-site.</p><p>• Provide a daily client update including project progress report and photographs; keep a Daily Log of what took place on-site for each project.</p><p>• Communicate with the client daily about the project and be prepared to answer their questions.</p><p>• Award all trade contracts and allocate their responsibilities.</p><p>• Communicate quality and performance standards to all trade contractors and vendors.</p><p>• Strive for no-defect, no schedule delay construction.</p><p>• Supervise the work of each project on-site and provide guidance as needed.</p><p>• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards on the jobsite.</p><p>• Schedule municipal inspections.</p><p>• Create the Project Close Out binder.</p><p>Required Skills</p><p>• Minimum seven (7) years of experience as a Residential and Commercial Construction Project Superintendent</p><p>• Organized, resourceful, self-starter</p><p>• A passion for delivering world-class service</p><p>• Friendly and sociable, a successful relationship builder</p><p>• A goal setter who is accountable to the team and client</p><p>• Strong written and verbal communication skills</p><p>Desired Skills</p><p>• Experience working with Building Connected, Procore, Microsoft Excel and Word, FastTrack, Sage as well as any other scheduling, project management, or job costing software platforms</p><p>About FlowerHire</p><p>FlowerHire is on a mission to build a conscious cannabis community, one hire at a time.
