- Partner effectively with the business in managing a wide range of broad business issues and opportunities
- Develop and implement tools or dashboards that track and present key information for frequent management review; establish and adjust objectives as required
- Assume responsibility and strategic decision-making for the site’s financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, planning & analysis, and audit requirements
- Ensure alignment with corporate financial requirements for effectiveness of management control and compliance with the governance requirements of a public company
- Review accounting and reporting principles, policies, and practices and make recommendations
- Identify opportunities for cost savings
- Strong costing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience effectively managing accounting, reporting, forecasting and budgeting procedures, ideally for a publicly-traded company
- Proficient knowledge of technology tools and systems – has ideally worked with and participated in an ERP upgrade/implementation; experience with advanced ERP systems is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills; proven ability to develop strong relationships throughout the business
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Self-starter with strong project management skills and multi-tasking abilities
- Proven leader who enjoys walking the site and being a visible presence
- Post-secondary degree - finance, accounting or a related field
- CPA designation
- Bilingualism is considered an asset

Purileaf Financial Controller will be in charge of defining and building a culture of financial accountability within the organization to support significant growth of corporation going forward.</p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities:</b></p><p>• Implementing best practice accounting/reporting processes and tools</p><p>• Full cycle accounting, including accounts receivable and payable, payroll, general ledger</p><p>• Monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation and other management reporting, including metrics and KPI’s to aid in executive decision-making</p><p>• Cash forecasting and management</p><p>• Revenue recognition and inventory accounting</p><p>• Budgeting and budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis</p><p>• Financial forecasts</p><p>• Coordination and leadership of financial audits and regulatory reviews</p><p>• Tax compliance, including GST/HST returns, Excise returns and corporate returns</p><p>• Offering recommendations for and implementing process improvements</p><p>• Assist in hiring, mentoring and supporting administrative/accounting team members</p><p>• Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties outlined</p><p><b>Expected Results:</b></p><p>Through proper execution of the above stated job responsibilities, a Controller will have a strong grasp on the company’s financial standings and be able to provide sound advice to the leadership team to help drive the company forward.</p><p>A successful Controller will be able to think strategically and make decisions effectively.
