Our company consists of 60 people that span across our cultivation, production, manufacturing, distribution, sales and creative teams. We service 244 retail dispensaries throughout California who sell our products to hundreds of thousands of consumers.

Better Than Good is seeking an experienced Financial Controller, to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, development of internal control policies and procedures, and financial risk management.

Description/Responsibilities

  • · Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition and Payroll functions.
  • · Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • · Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • · Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • · Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • · Support month-end and year-end close process
  • · Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • · Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • · Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • · Additional controller duties as necessary
  • · Managing all finance and accounting operations
  • · Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • · Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
  • Liaison with CPA/Audit firm

Qualifications / Requirements

  • · Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant fields.
  • · Big Four accounting experience preferred
  • · CPA license preferred
  • · 5+ years’ experience leading the accounting function
  • · Experience in preparing for and taking a company public or other significant M&A transactions.
  • · Experience working with the design and implementation of financial systems and procedures to enhance internal operating controls
  • · Strong analytical skills; as well as verbal and written communications skills
  • · Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop others

The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for People, Process, Product and Infrastructure which includes the management and accountability for compliance, P&amp;L, budgets, cash flow and production targets, human resources, repairs and maintenance, health and safety and security. This includes leading all cultivation, manufacturing and production agents, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information as well as lead procurement, waste disposal and inventory management activities. The position must maintain strong partnerships with corporate leaders of Infrastructure, Horticulture, Manufacturing and Compliance. The Cultivation and Manufacturing Facility is a busy operation and therefore the ability to organize, prioritize and delegate tasks is a key requirement. The Facility Operations Manager will need to be able to lead teams, plan, organize and anticipate requirements well in advance to ensure smooth business operations.</p><p><b>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><p>This position manages functional operating units such as Horticulture and Cultivation, Inventory Control and Manufacturing Production which may include Extraction, Pharmaceutical Production and Commercial Kitchen operations. The Facility Operations Manager has responsibility for all staff in the facility and acts as a liaison externally between the Cultivation and Dispensing Facilities and the local community, including law enforcement.</p><p>Maintain a highly focused, diligent, lean operational culture dedicated to Fluent Cannabis Care's established mission objectives.</p><p>Ensure compliance with all State and local laws, rules and regulations governing the local medical marijuana program, and other regulations such as OSHA, HIPAA, NFPA and others.</p><p>Oversee staff training and education to ensure that SOPs, Health and Safety, and good agricultural and manufacturing practices are followed.</p><p>Manage security of the facility in partnership with corporate VP, Security.
