Job Description: Project Manager – New Store Openings Last Update: September 20, 2020


Purpose
Cookies Retail is a preferred global retail partner of Cookies that will be opening and operating store across the US and beyond.
The Project Manager – New Store Openings reports directly to the VP of Retail Operations and oversees the New Store Development for Cookies Retail stores. This position will follow an established methodology to ensure that project goals and objectives relating to new store openings are met, completed on time and within budget. The position is responsible for holding all appropriate internal and external stakeholders accountable for deliverables.


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, manage and direct multiple complex new store opening projects.
  • Partner with top management to achieve corporate objectives by directing and leading one or more project teams.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and design renderings
  • Travel as needed to review site readiness, prepare for inspections, and manage all onsite setup.
  • Meet work standards by following productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying work process improvements.
  • Review and evaluate project plans and objectives.
  • Track project progress with respect to time, budget and demonstrated results.
  • Apply effective project management methodologies and control techniques.
  • Maintain and manage project documents.
  • Maintains and delivers milestone report to cross functional partners.
  • Resolve cross-functional issues at project level.
  • Manage project scope and change management control and escalates issues where necessary.
  • Liaises with, and updates progress to, stakeholders/senior management.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the project meets business needs.
  • Execute special projects on time and to budget.
  • Coordinate projects for relocations and renovations; creates and manages timelines and deliverables
  • Perform postmortem reports upon completion of each project; evaluate the success of each project and determine best practices
  • Develop, maintain and use process tools including play books, manuals, project calendars, progress tracking, to deliver each project on time.
  • Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Passion for and knowledgeable about Cannabis
  • Passion for Cookies Culture
  • Minimum 3 years of project management, team leadership and retail operations experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn proprietary software programs
  • Ability to work and lead cross functional teams
  • Travel, including overnight, will be required
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must have excellent team building skills

Preferred:
  • PMP Certification
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or feet, reach with hands and arms and may be required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
Travel:
This position requires up to 75% travel. Very frequent travel outside of the local area and overnight. Some international travel may be required.

We have big plans for this year and need people like you to help us spread our roots across the country!<br /><b>The Position</b><br />As the Cultivation Manager, you will work directly with the General Manager and other facility Managers to ensure the successful launch, ramp up and ongoing operation of our first California facility. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that cultivation activities are completed efficiently and up to Smallhold’s standards. You will create and oversee cultivation schedules and ensure that products are ready to fulfill shipments out the door, in full and on time. The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for People, Process, Product and Infrastructure which includes the management and accountability for compliance, P&amp;L, budgets, cash flow and production targets, human resources, repairs and maintenance, health and safety and security. This includes leading all cultivation, manufacturing and production agents, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information as well as lead procurement, waste disposal and inventory management activities. The position must maintain strong partnerships with corporate leaders of Infrastructure, Horticulture, Manufacturing and Compliance. The Cultivation and Manufacturing Facility is a busy operation and therefore the ability to organize, prioritize and delegate tasks is a key requirement. The Facility Operations Manager will need to be able to lead teams, plan, organize and anticipate requirements well in advance to ensure smooth business operations.</p><p><b>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><p>This position manages functional operating units such as Horticulture and Cultivation, Inventory Control and Manufacturing Production which may include Extraction, Pharmaceutical Production and Commercial Kitchen operations.
