About This Role

Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The FP&A Analyst will play an integral role in the forecasting, planning, and reporting process for SG&A expenses. He or she will partner with teams across the finance organization to develop and improve executive management packages, planning processes, financial models and analytics. This role will also provide ad-hoc analysis as needed to support and influence senior leadership. This financial analyst role will be a key member on the Finance team assist in system projects to streamline planning/reporting processes. We are seeking an individual with strong analytical skills, strong communication skills, excellent understanding of corporate finance fundamentals, and a desire for consistent personal development. Overall financial acumen including some experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis is desired. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities

Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparation and consolidation as part of the global FP&A cycle including monthly/quarterly budgeting & forecasting, annual plan setting, variance to forecast analysis, etc.
  • Partner with the CFO to support various business leaders across the organization to better understand the Company's operational expenses, SG&A expenses, and capital expenditures
  • Initiate, own and manage financial models that are used to set and measure key performance indicators
  • Perform ad hoc global financial analysis / deep dives on pressing business issues to support key business decisions
  • Work closely with members of the global finance organization (specifically accounting during the month end close cycle) and cross functionality with other department leaders

The Experience You Bring and the Skills we Need:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years experience in Accounting or Finance
  • You have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • You are comfortable working with and analyzing Company financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement) and relevant financial analysis metrics
  • Experience with financial planning systems
  • Experience with financial planning/reporting
  • You are a proactive, self-starter, and fast learner with a high attention to detail who is able to work independently on projects and has a track record for completing projects quickly, accurately, and with limited information
  • You are systems savvy - comfortable with deep, data environments
  • You are results-oriented, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands on mentality
  • You are familiar with ecommerce or retail environment
  • You thrive in a fluid, fast-paced environment
