Full-Time Outdoor Cannabis Harvest Labor (Seasonal)

We are hiring for this seasonal position from April-October 2022


Seasonal outdoor harvest laborers will report directly to the Senior Cultivator. This job will largely consist of farming and landscaping, and will support all aspects of grow operations from planting to harvesting (including clean-up). The job will include assisting with the growth process of planting, watering and maintaining plants, as well as cutting plants, de-leafing/trimming, and shucking (dry and wet) cannabis plants. The harvest laborer should have the ability to perform intensive manual labor, stand for long periods of time, and carry out repetitive tasks during summer weather conditions. The seasonal job may also require laborers to hang, package, weigh, burp and cure bud, as well as subsequent field organization and clean up following the harvest season. Additionally, the harvest laborer must be capable of using product tracking software to remain in compliance with state issued standards. The harvest laborer should have a positive attitude and ability to work well with a team.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Senior Cultivator to plan for growing activities that are consistent with planned production schedules.
  • Prepare grow space for planting and ensure that all spaces are clean and free of fungi, mildew, mold and various pests.
  • Prepare grow areas including; transporting grow pots to growing areas, filling grow pots with soil, transplanting plants into grow pots, setting up irrigation lines, watering and feeding plants, and labeling plants.
  • Monitor growing conditions and reviews changes in humidity, moisture and temperature as well as cultivation procedures to ensure conformance with quality control standards.
  • Inspects crop features such as leaf texture, coloration, bloom size and for the existence of pests or disease
  • Work with IPM manager to execute pest and disease control
  • Work with inventory manager for inventory data input
  • Cloning: cutting clones from mother stock, rooting clones in nursery, monitoring and maintaining clones to vegetative stages of plant growth
  • Harvesting: cutting plants; trimming plants; removing flowering tops; weighing and inventory data input into the electronic inventory tracking system.
  • Curing: hanging and dry-racking flower; monitoring curing process and climate control; labeling; weighing, and inventory data input.
  • Operate and maintain cultivation systems/equipment: monitor, calibrate, run and maintain lighting, irrigation, climate control and other cultivation systems; stock and handle production input and supplies; sanitize and clean growing areas, cultivation workspaces, and tools
  • Ensure daily compliance with policies and procedures including but not limited to state compliance, security protocols, and access protocols
  • Any other tasks assigned by Management.


Physical Requirements of the Job: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 25 pounds, may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching as well as repetitive motions. Moderate to loud exposure to noise level. Must be able to safely operate farming machinery such as farm vehicles, trimming fans and handheld trimmers, as well as maintenance equipment such as weed whackers, hoes, etc.

Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check – certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state medical marijuana licensing regulations. There will be no drugs or alcohol on or consumed on The Human Connection or any of their client’s property. Intoxication or the act of consuming drugs or alcohol is prohibited before and during your working shift.

supporting the crafting of compensation standards and practices for the organization.</p><p>The role will be responsible for all benchmarking survey submissions and timelines, assist in the critical process of job evaluation, and prepare reports in support of job grading, salary ranges, bonus targets, internal equity and market competitiveness.</p><p>This role will use excellent quantitative skills to assist in finding trends and recommendations for the organization, and thoughtful writing skills to create consistency and standards in the job evaluation process.</p><p>This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Compensation.</p><p><b>CORE JOB DUTIES</b></p><p>• Manages all market pricing survey submissions and audits; synthesizes results into usable formats, analyzes market pricing against internal incumbents.</p><p>• Assists in the administration of annual year-end base pay, bonus, and equity cycles using advanced excel configuration.</p><p>• Assist in implementation of compensation planning software.</p><p>• Assists in writing job descriptions using honed job evaluation skills : notates job data from stakeholders (HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business stakeholders) and creates initial drafts</p><p>• Assists in analyzing new job title requests for job description comprehensiveness and standards, title cohesiveness, salary ranges and bonus targets.</p><p>Escalates red flags to management team for further review.</p><p>• Reviews library of existing job descriptions and edits for standardized language, where possible.</p><p>• Delivers reports and insights on internal compensation practices, market analysis, and job grading.</p><p>• Performs research and analysis on market pricing and pay compliance matters.</p><p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS</p><p>• Bachelors degree in Human Resources or Business Management preferred.</p><p>• 3-5 years of demonstrated compensation analysis experience with extensive experience in the discipline of market pricing, benchmarking and job evaluation highly desirable.</p><p>• Strong, demonstrated writing and critical analysis skills required.</p><p>• Strong, demonstrated Excel skills required (vlookup and pivot tables should be fluent basics of your excel skills. You will work closely with the business leaders to provide financial support and insight on the business. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing multiple revenue opportunities and identifying the most advantageous, preferably in a digital publishing/advertising or marketplace business. The candidate will be analytical, data driven, detail oriented, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and effective in balancing multiple priorities. This role will be critical in Leafly continuing to leverage our leadership position in the rapidly evolving global cannabis industry.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><p>• Ownership of budgeting, planning, and forecasting for the organization and ensuring assumptions are consistent, data is accurate, business drivers are identified and monitored, and risks and opportunities are understood.</p><p>• Work closely with Product Managers and Sales Leaders to model revenue potential of new products and markets.</p><p>• Identify root causes of financial performance; Actively call out risks and find opportunities to help steer the business towards continued growth.</p><p>• Work with Senior Leadership on financial presentations for internal stakeholders, Board of Directors, and current and potential investors.</p><p>• Ownership of the long-term (3-5 year) financial model.</p><p>• Analyze overall effectiveness of different business initiatives providing leadership with ongoing risk assessment against objectives.</p><p>• Support decision-making through analysis of performance and projecting financial scenarios.</p><p>• Build and refine robust financial models.</p><p>• Work closely with the Business Intelligence Team to translate financial information into easily consumable dashboards in Tableau and/or Salesforce.</p><p>• Perform ad-hoc analyses and deep dives to improve financial and operational performance and evaluate new opportunities.</p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>• BS/BA degree in finance, accounting, or economics</p><p>• 5+ years experience (preferably in the digital publisher/advertising industry).</p><p>• Public company reporting experience preferred</p><p>• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, extensive modeling experience</p><p>• Strong program management, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a rapidly growing company</p><p>• Business acumen: can explain the story behind the numbers and recommend solutions</p><p>• Proficiency in Tableau salesforce.com development and/or integration</p><p>• Excellent team and positive interpersonal skills, with a general willingness to help others</p><p>• Excellent written &amp; verbal communication skills</p><p>• Ability to leverage technology to invent, improve, and scale</p><p>The job description is representative of typical duties and responsibilities for the position and is not all-inclusive.
