Extraction Technician

The Extraction Technician is responsible for the facility's overall extraction process and day-to-day production following established protocol and regulations. The Extraction Technician will lead the extraction lab team through the activities required to manufacture, store, maintain equipment and materials necessary to run a world-class extraction lab.

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

Follows Policies & Procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with state medical marijuana regulations.

Maintains testing and formulating operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and procedures.

Performs QA/QC through analytical testing for quality, consistency and efficacy.

Works closely with production team on all elements of the testing and formulating process.

Masters various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion, including butane extraction.

Develops expertise in testing and formulating methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis.

Responsible for inventory, recordkeeping and quality of product s, maintaining inventory via seed to sale tracking.

Salary$17 - $19 USD per hour

Required Skills

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

Bachelor's degree preferably in chemistry or similar field.

1-4 years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment.

Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis.

Desired Skills

Experience with analytical testing required and HPLC- specific experience preferred.

The Supervisor journals, monitors and tracks all observations in the company's software seed to sale tracking system.</p><p><b>Major Areas of Responsibility include:</b></p><p>• Follow Policies &amp; Procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with state medical marijuana regulations</p><p>• Maintains testing and formulating operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and procedures</p><p>• Perform QA/QC through analytical testing for quality, consistency and efficacy</p><p>• Work closely with production team on all elements of the testing and formulating process</p><p>• Design extraction trials and experiments to optimize extraction purity and efficiency.</p><p>• Develop new extraction and purification techniques. Keep abreast of developments in the industry.</p><p>• Master various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion, including butane extraction</p><p>• Develop expertise in testing and formulating methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis</p><p>• Responsible for inventory, recordkeeping and quality of product at all times, maintaining inventory via seed to sale tracking.</p><p>• Responsible for coordinating Waste Disposal of extraction waste and product return waste.</p><p>• Facilitates and coordinates the operational requirements between in the production workflow</p><p>• Responsible for accurately weighing and recording all product weights</p><p>• Works in a timely manner and strives to improve quality and maintain accuracy</p><p>• Make sure that all concentrates are packaged, counted, sorted and labeled accurately</p><p>• Manages day to day issues as they arise, requesting assistance as needed</p><p>• Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned</p><p><b>Skills and Qualifications:</b></p><p>• All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.</p><p>• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or similar field preferred</p><p>• 3-5 years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment</p><p>• Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis</p><p>• Experience with analytical testing required and HPLC- specific experience preferred</p><p>• Experience in various cannabis testing or formulation methods preferred</p><p>• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking skills</p><p>• Ability to interact professionally at all times, leading by example</p><p>• Manage a controlled workflow in a fast-paced environment</p><p>• Passionate about the importance of medical marijuana</p><p>• Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment</p><p>• Experience in cannabis oil extraction, including decarboxylation, supercritical CO2 extraction, winterization, distillation, and separation, including related equipment maintenance experience.</p><p>• Supervisory experience</p><p>• Must pass all required background checks</p><p>Travel %: 0%</p><p>FLSA status: Non-exempt</p><p><b>Additional Abilities Required:</b></p><p>• The job requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting or moving up to 10 pounds (or more with a coworker).
