Reporting to the Security Manager (HoS), the Security Specialist is responsible for supporting the HoS in all security operations across the organization in accordance with the Cannabis Act and all other relevant regulations for the licensed site.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in managing the licensed site's Security Department.

(Security Associates) and lead in developing, reviewing, and maintaining Security Programs and projects to ensure security compliance under the Cannabis Act/Regulations.

Work cross-departmentally to ensure security compliance is strictly adhered to (i.e. Operations, Regulatory, Quality Assurance);

Operate video surveillance systems, monitoring all access control and intrusion detection systems; monitor and report violations of overall safety and security procedures through the licensed site;

Assist in implementing training programs around SOPs pertaining to security and security record keeping compliance; collaborate training programs with Human Resources and assess training gaps continuously;

Support security programs to oversee and record response to security incidents and breaches;

Support systems/programs of control that ensure loss prevent and detection;

Assist in coordinating with 3rd party security providers/contractors for security installations and monitoring systems for the licensed site;

Collaborate with Regulatory and QA Departments to develop and perform internal audits regularly to determine security compliance according to Cannabis Regulations;

Maintain current knowledge of best practices for the provisions of the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations that apply to the license holder; and

Other duties and activities as required.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Bachelor' Degree in a related field (i.e. Security Management) obtained or recognized by a Canadian University or institution;

Security TQ required, FSR preferred

Professional security designation considered an asset (i.e. ASIS CPP, ASIS PSP);

Certification of Qualification from ITA for security alarm installation preferred;

Ability to troubleshoot corporate networks and enterprise switches (CCNA would be valuable) and to perform site security inspections and maintenance tasks

Strong understanding of security plans and their applications;

Ability to interpret plans and design documents with a strong knowledge of provincial building, electrical code & fire codes

Recent criminal record check completed (required prior to hiring);

Vendor Certification in low voltage systems and knowledge and/or certification with Genetec is preferred;

Strong troubleshooting and computer skills and a solid understanding of ERP, MS Office Suite, Adobe Pro, G-Suite, AutoCAD and additional technical proficiency; and

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

5+ years' management experience in a Security Department within a similar production environment;

Prior experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry, post secondary training in electronics or equivalent is considered an asset;

Proven knowledge and experience related to the responsibilities of the position (i.e. Pharma, medical devices, food/beverage, high valued goods, etc.);

Access control and Intrusion installation and programming experience;

Prior experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry

Proven experience and ability to diagnose and locate circuits, network components and equipment faults;

Video Surveillance installation and troubleshooting experience;

Cybersecurity experience strongly desirable; and

Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing proactive security compliance programs and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user hardware, network infrastructure, printing/scanning devices, software, and other products. Maintain, troubleshoot and improve Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, and O365 environments. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues providing accurate and detailed documentation. Provide both in-person and remote technical support to dispensaries and production facilities, visiting each location in person at least once per week. Provide on-call technical support along with scheduled after-hours maintenance activities such as patching, updates, rollouts, etc. Monitor sites and resources and act on alarms in an efficient manner. Connect with the IT Manager to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Complete tickets assigned by the internal ticket managing system, elevating any issues to the IT Manager when necessary. Perform and participate in additional IT projects and priorities as needed. Coordinate with IT-related vendors and provide onsite support when required. Assist in fostering a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for \"everything cannabis\". Qualifications 3-5 years of desktop and server experience required Experience in the IT field. Experience supporting AzureAD environments. Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role. Strong computer troubleshooting skills, knowledge of PC hardware and Windows-based software. Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to cope with new and different problems. Able to pass all background checks as mandated by the state. Must be able to obtain/maintain background requirements by the state. Must be 21 years of age or older as required by the state. The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree. Must be able to work on weekends or alternate shifts. Travel to dispensaries/manufacturing facilities as well as locations outside of AYR's network may be required. This position will travel between our Dispensaries. Physical requirements This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Frequently communicates with employees, supervisors and co-workers regarding HR related inquiries. Must be able to exchange absolute information. Constant movement and use of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina. Must be able to inspect documents and identify errors. Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 15 pounds.
