Verano NJ is a licensed operator of a cannabis cultivation and processing facility in Branchburg, New Jersey, and we are looking to add passionate, exceptional talent to our team!

Job Summary:

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing the department in the daily production of cannabis-infused edible and topical products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production of edible and topical products and managing personnel.
  • Delegate responsibilities and train personnel on recipes and standard operating procedure (SOP).
  • Weigh and mix ingredients according to recipes and SOP to produce edible and topical products.
  • Record production and procedures—such as processing steps, temperatures, cooking time, batches processed, and test results.
  • Restock supplies as needed throughout the shift.
  • Prepare completed products for packaging and shipment.
  • Clean, sanitize, and organize equipment, cooking area, floors, coolers, and storage areas.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to industry and company specifications.
  • Inspect and remove defective products and packaging materials.
  • Ensure that production schedules are met with deadlines.
  • Coordinate operations and schedules of personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience in a regulated field that adheres to health and safety policies and procedures required.
  • Must be able to follow recipes and SOP.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of food production and kitchen sanitation.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 6 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to successfully register with the state's cannabis commission as an agent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 year(s) of management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Operations or performance improvement skill sets preferred.
  • Previous experience in a regulated field that produces products for human consumption preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
