Marketing Director

General Description/Purpose

Responsible for all marketing efforts related to Sacred Garden. Determines the demand by patients and customers for various products in the cannabis industry, specifically New Mexico cannabis competitors, and develops marketing strategies with the goal of maximizing Sacred Garden’s profits and market share. Plans and directs advertising policies and programs and capitalizes on the products and services Sacred Garden offers to patients in the current Medical Cannabis program and customers in the upcoming Recreational Cannabis program (beginning April 2022). Engages in promoting and creating goodwill for Sacred Garden by writing and selecting favorable publicity material and releasing it through various communications media.

Tasks and Nature of Work

1. Plans and executes Sacred Garden advertising policies; plans and prepares advertising and promotional material. Develops and implements marketing campaigns to continue to promote Sacred Garden’s brand and brand recognition.

2. Develops marketing strategy based on knowledge of established policies, nature of market, finance considerations, and other relevant factors.

3. Coordinates marketing activities of all Sacred Garden, incorporating sales, graphics art, media, and finances.

4. Confers with management to discuss selection of advertising and marketing media, or enterprise and event to be publicized.

5. Monitors and analyzes promotion results to determine benefits and cost effectiveness of campaign.

6. Inspects layouts and advertising copy and edits scripts, audio and video tapes, and other promotional media for adherence to specifications.

7. Analyzes and monitors applicable industry trends, innovations and changes that affect media and marketing planning; consults publications and other sources to learn about events for promotional purposes.

8. Works directly with management to plan, organize, and implement Sacred Garden sales and events programs.

9. Develops and disseminates a yearly Marketing Plan that includes goals, major events and programs, sales coordination efforts, relevant market data, etc.

10. Execute and monitor strategic marketing plans, both short and long range, to Sacred Garden marketing objectives. This includes digital and print ads, social media content, graphic design, video and photography production, and direct the company who manages Sacred Garden’s website. Manage an assistant to help execute these marketing efforts.

Recommended Experience and Education

1. High School Diploma, or GED Equivalency certificate of Completion.

2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in professional marketing and media related setting

3. General understanding of marketing and media software applications, and social media development

Knowledge and Skills General Knowledge

1. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
2. Effective time management and ability to multitask.
3. Understanding of Microsoft Desktop OS’s, windows and social media applications.
4. Proficiency in Windows based software.
5. Familiarity with New Mexico medical cannabis laws.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
7. Ability to establish, maintain, and follow documented processes and procedures.
8. Accurate typing, data entry and record keeping.

Detailed Knowledge:

  • Mathematics – Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
