Purplefarm Genetics is looking for a qualified individual to join their team at a cannabis production facility. We are looking for talented individuals who are passionate about the industry to support our growth. We are seeking a full-time (40/hrs) employee who would split their time between bookkeeping and office manager/security duties. This role would be full-time and onsite, and bookkeeping/accounting duties and office/security duties would be split evenly amongst working hours.

Duties:

Bookkeeper/Accounting - 50% of time

- Data Entry

- Review invoice and record in Quickbooks

- Communicate with production and quality assurance staff to resolve discrepancies

- Manage payroll: Run bi-weekly payroll. Remit and issue payments for source deductions. Prepare yearly T4s and Records of Employment. Report and issue payments for WSIB premiums.

- Prepare and analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports per entity and department.

- Assist in the budgeting process and preparation of financial reports such as financial statements.

- Assist in resolving complex accounting issues or other related issues.

- Assist in purchasing and managing inventory reports

- Release payments to accounts/vendors

Office Manager/Security

- Greeting visitors and contractors and preparing necessary forms

- Scheduling of contractor visits

- Recording security deviation reports

- Monitoring security cameras and retrieval of footage when required

- Supervising access to staff to security-restricted areas

- Issuing security fobs to new employees or replacing & decommissioning lost fobs

- Filing invoices and contracts

- Maintaining office space to ensure it is neat and orderly

- Receive mail and non-operation shipments

- Answer phone for inquiries

Qualifications

A post-secondary degree or diploma in bookkeeping and/or accounting

Ability to pass Health Canada security clearances

At minimum two years relevant experience

Detailed oriented, organized, and hard working

Are self-motivated; micro-managing isn’t fun for anyone

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Salary: $40,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience

Start Date: Immediate
