We not only offer access to high-quality, affordable products, but we are also cannabis experts.

Founded in August 2019, we are ready to blaze new trails as we open 3 dispensary locations in Missouri. As a result, we’re looking for top-notch people to join our mission. Let us be blunt, though. We are not a pot shop. We are a medicinal facility providing patients with education on the benefits of cannabis. Our patients are #1, and we equip ourselves with in-depth knowledge of the different products available and how to use them, plus their advantages and disadvantages. And we do this while maintaining a professional, friendly, and discreet attitude.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced, patient-centered Manager for our dispensary. The Dispensary Manager will empower all patient consultants (a.k.a. “Budtenders”) to deliver a premium level of care for our medical cannabis patients, all while fostering an environment of high-quality service and expertise. The Manager will oversee and coordinate retail activities under the direction of the General Manager, as well as implement initiatives that will advance the growth of the facility and larger group. Additionally, the Manager will lead the day-to-day business activities of the dispensary and its employees, including patient care and inventory management.

Our Carefully Cultivated Dispensary Manager:

• Participates in the hiring and training of dispensary Patient Consultants.

• Creates employee schedules and manages labor.

• Coaches and develops Consultants to ensure alignment with company policies.

• Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.

• Assesses Consultants’ readiness for promotion into advanced positions within the company.

• Ensures company policies are followed in addition to regional, state, and industry compliance standards.

But there is more. After all, this is a leadership position for a swift moving company with high expectations for itself. More specifically our Manager:

• Is an acting member of the management team for the assigned retail location.

• Works with patients and staff to resolve any challenges or opportunities.

• Carefully monitors our inventory and follows guidelines for reporting any discrepancies.

• Performs opening and closing procedures, as needed.

• Understands cannabis regulations and stays abreast of changes.

• Collaborates with other company departments and staff including, but not limited to, Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, Compliance & Inventory, Finance, Sales, Facilities, and the Leadership Team.

• Identifies opportunities for overall improvement in the company’s performance through professional development; team building; on-going training; new policies; short, mid, and long term goals; and other resources to maximize productivity and team morale.

• Facilitates regular staff meetings in partnership with the General Manager.

• Remains up to date on market trends, competitor activities, and industry-standard best practices.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Once the smoke clears, you can see that this is ultimately a people-person opportunity. We work as a team from the bottom up and we’re looking for a hybrid: someone with both hard and soft skills. We want someone who plays nice with others, maintains a professional attitude at all times, and, above all, respects the work. We are not a pot shop. We are a medical facility with patients who have medicinal needs. Our Dispensary Manager will have to walk a fine line between serving as a leader, motivator, and mediator on the one hand. On the other hand, we need someone who can pivot from a patient dispute to a data dump of YTD sales per top 10 SKUs for the leadership team in a moment’s notice. More specifically, our Manager will have:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• An ability to successfully work with employees from a wide range of ages, knowledge bases, and experiences.

• A need for organization; and “i” dotting and “t” crossing. Details matter.

• A proven record of successful leadership, initiative, and inspiration.

• 2+ years of supervisory experience.

• Retail management experience, or experience in a related field.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Point Of Sale systems and other related business software.

• Must be able to periodically travel throughout the region.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required with some college preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Prolonged periods of standing or walking.

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

A Few Extra Nugs of Responsibility:

• Due to state regulations, applicants for this position must be at least 21 years of age and pass a background check. Certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state medical marijuana licensing regulations.

• Applicants must also be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.

Not to Puff Our Chests But

If you’re really into green businesses, we’d like you to know that we’ve expanded our mission to include a firm commitment to environmental sustainability. We are constantly seeking out new partnerships and new ideas for reducing our carbon footprint now and into the future. We’re installing new, eco-friendly, lighting inside our facility. We’re working on a solution for recycling our cannabis containers, and we’re working towards going as paperless as possible in our workspace. From container labels to receipts to our line of merchandisewe want to make sure we are doing our part as a service provider to offer our patients the best possible experience all the while being as responsible as possible for serving as stewards of our patients, our environment, and our global community.

It’s a lot to process.

The Dispensary Manager will empower all patient consultants (a.k.a “Budtenders”) to deliver a premium level of care for our medical cannabis patients, all while fostering an environment of high-quality service and expertise.

We know. So think it over. If you feel like you’re ready to lift your game and work in a medical cannabis facility with like-minded professionals, then light us up. We’d love to hear from you.

The Source is an equal opportunity employer. Most of the trusted brands you’re washing up with are made with detergents, chemicals and tallow, which is just another name for cow fat (umm… gross). Sulfates, artificial detergents and parabens can cause irritation, trigger allergies and have other unpleasant side effects.

That doesn’t exactly say “refreshing shower” to us. So we set out on a mission to find an alternative. After learning more about commercial soap ingredients, we found ourselves in a bit of a lather about the whole business.

In 2013, we began experimenting with soap recipes that are safe for your skin and contain ingredients you can actually pronounce. After making a few big messes, we created something wonderful and Buff City Soap was born.

OUR SOAP MAKERY

We handcraft each bar of Buff City soap in what we call our Soap Makeries. Each of our locations makes every product sold right there, where you can see exactly what goes into the products you put on your body. It’s a bit of a mad lab stocked with ingredients like rose petals, lavender buds, hemp seed oil, shea butter, charcoal, and tea tree oil. Even our body scrubs are squeaky clean with natural exfoliants like chopped loofah bits, crushed walnut shells, and poppy seeds. What you will never see are artificial detergents, surfactants, dyes, or other harsh chemicals.

We even have our fragrances manufactured for us to ensure they are free of phthalates, parabens, and formaldehyde containing/forming ingredients.
