The Production Quality Engineer will oversee the daily operations of the organization to ensure goals and objectives are being achieved; develops, implements, and maintains a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes.

Essential Duties:

  • Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
  • Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
  • Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to ensure successful production operations.
  • Oversees the shipping and receiving functions.
  • Determines labor needs to meet production goals.
  • Manages inventory of product, in process material, and raw materials.
  • Assists with, or prepares and updates, organization’s operations manual and policies.
  • Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
  • Coordinates product testing processes.
  • Participates in product testing via sample preparation and liquid chromatography
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
  • Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires and trains quality assurance staff
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the production lab
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with HPLC and UPC2
  • Experience with ISO901 and cGMP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret data as needed to set production goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals
  • Experience with internal and external audits
  • 3-5 years of experience in related field required. Supervisory experience a plus

Education:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Science field (Chemistry or Forensics preferred) related to the products being developed required

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
