Part-Time Outdoor Cannabis Harvest Labor (Seasonal)

We are hiring for this seasonal position from April-October 2022


Seasonal outdoor harvest laborers will report directly to the Senior Cultivator. The harvest labor job will largely consist of cutting plants, de-leafing/trimming, and shucking (dry and wet) cannabis plants. The harvest laborer should have the ability to perform intensive manual labor, stand for long periods of time, and carry out repetitive tasks during summer weather conditions. The seasonal job may also require laborers to hang, package, weigh, burp and cure bud, as well as subsequent field organization and clean up following the harvest season. The harvest laborer should have a positive attitude and ability to work well with a team.


Responsibilities:

  • Harvesting: cutting plants; trimming plants; removing flowering tops (shucking); weighing and inventory data input into the electronic inventory tracking system.
  • Curing: hanging and dry-racking flower; monitoring curing process and climate control; labeling; weighing, and inventory data input.
  • Operate and maintain cultivation systems/equipment: monitor, calibrate, run and maintain lighting, irrigation, climate control and other cultivation systems; stock and handle production input and supplies; sanitize and clean growing areas, cultivation workspaces, and tools
  • Ensure daily compliance with policies and procedures including but not limited to state compliance, security protocols, and access protocols
  • Any other tasks assigned by Management.


Physical Requirements of the Job: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 25 pounds, may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching as well as repetitive motions. Moderate to loud exposure to noise level. Must be able to safely operate farming machinery such as farm vehicles, trimming fans and handheld trimmers, as well as maintenance equipment such as weed whackers, hoes, etc.

Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check – certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state medical marijuana licensing regulations. There will be no drugs or alcohol on or consumed on The Human Connection or any of their client’s property. Intoxication or the act of consuming drugs or alcohol is prohibited before and during your working shift.

  • High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Capacity to work outdoors for long hours.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to perform labor intensive landscaping work.
  • Good documentation, inventory, and organization skills.

Additionally, the harvest laborer must be capable of using product tracking software to remain in compliance with state issued standards.
