Role and Responsibilities:

The Chemist is responsible for the preparation and execution of the extraction process. The Chemist will carry out the day to day tasks including extraction, refining, testing, quality assurance and maintenance. The Chemist is responsible for various duties within the laboratory while working compliantly within State and Federal regulatory frameworks.

Essential Functions:

- Ability to follow and adhere to strict regulatory protocols and stand operating procedures.

- Ensure proper handling of pre- and post- extraction materials.

- Process raw cannabis material into a crude concentrate.

- Perform wet chemistry techniques, filtration, distillation, crystallization and purging.

- Carry out cannabinoid concentrate refining process to completion.

- Ensure all processes include clear and well defined labeling to ensure traceability.

- Analyze and report on product test results.

- Assist with daily, weekly, monthly maintenance of the laboratory area and equipment.

- Keep equipment operational by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventative maintenance.
