Job Summary

The Category Manager will report into the Director of Procurement and will play a critical role in the sourcing of ingredients and packaging while ensuring a source of supply is in place to meet rapidly growing sales demand.

This individual will work cross functionally to identify new and alternative supply, negotiate agreements with suppliers, facilitate the qualification of suppliers, and develop and implement procurement tactical plans and procedures to support the business growth.

As a Kiva Category Manager, you'll

• Manage raw material contracts with suppliers to ensure compliance of terms, safety stocks, lead-times, and usage. Facilitates discussion with suppliers to enable supply assurance.

• Develop deep category knowledge and regularly leverages industry experts, associations, peers, and stakeholders to identify and benchmark best practices.

• Proactively seek out new packaging and ingredient sourcing and continually develops secondary supplier network. Lead RFPs for new suppliers, engaging cross-functional teams as needed to ensure all qualifications are met.

• Participate in the development of supply strategies, to mitigate risk, ensure current and future supply and manage cost.

• Negotiate pricing and agreements with key suppliers to ensure a continuous source of supply to support the overall business needs.

• Identify cost savings opportunities and develops recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement for a food or beverage manufacturing

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively engage others as necessary to resolve issues

• Advanced knowledge of supply chain/procurement processes.

• Intermediate to expert level user of Microsoft Office Suite-Excel

• Intermediate to expert proficiency in manufacturing MRP and distribution systems and processes

• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ Years of Experience OR 10+ Years of Experience

• Extensive experience in spreadsheet and data analysis

• Knowledge in Supply Chain ERP systems

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency for analysis and modeling and creative thinking.

Be the brand enforcer at all times!</p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><p>Manage all consumer marketing and communications activities online, through social, print collateral, and advertising.</p><p>Oversee messaging on print collateral, and website to ensure brand messaging is consistent across all channels.</p><p>Manage 3rd party partnerships to ensure fulfillment of obligations.</p><p>Shape and communicate our vision and mission.</p><p>Translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies.</p><p>Lead creative development to motivate the target audience to take action .</p><p>Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns and assess ROI and KPIs.</p><p>Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors activities.</p><p>Align the company around the brand s direction, choices and tactics.</p><p>Create and develop an annual brand marketing plan and calendar for the AZ market that aligns with overall company strategies.</p><p>Collaborate with peers to ensure best brand practices are being utilized daily.</p><p>Plan out social content and messaging throughout year to speak to overall marketing strategies and sales incentives.</p><p>Communicate best practices and challenges from market analysis to Vice President of Marketing and Sales Team.</p><p>Collaborate with sales counterparts to execute programs and strategic partnerships that promote sales.</p><p>Develop a network of Item 9 Labs fans, build those relationships and utilize them as resources for access to the target market.</p><p>Report the status of consumer marketing activities and communicate consumer feedback; interpret findings; make recommendations. Monitor and communicate the activity of competitor brands in the market.</p><p>Detailed bi-weekly recap reports and monthly analytic recaps to be managed and produced for Vice President of Marketing.</p><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><p>Education: College degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Marketing, Communications or related study preferred.</p><p>Experience: Ideally, 4‐6 years experience in marketing, advertising, promotions, or related consumer‐focused field.</p><p>Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and communicate recommendations to executives</p><p>Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns</p><p>Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix</p><p>Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind</p><p>Outstanding communication skills</p><p>Up to date with latest trends and marketing best practices</p><p>Accountable, detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to execute and finish tasks in an organized and complete manner.</p><p>Proven ability to organize and manage cross-functional projects with several key stakeholders</p><p>Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and ability to manage numerous projects at one time</p><p>A creative eye for spotting product and consumer trends</p><p>Must demonstrate entrepreneurial aptitude and be solution-focus</p><p></p><p><b>Special Skills/Qualifications:</b></p><p>High level of organization, market knowledge critical, collaborative mindset, ability to negotiate effectively, strategic planning, quality focus, managing operational processes, excellent communicator, self‐starter, works with a sense of urgency.
