San Diego Security & Fire is a rapidly growing company with ongoing projects nationwide. We expect a lot from our field team, and pay them well for it. Our people enjoy the benefits of traveling on a regular basis and have a constant variety of work to take on and adapt to. Our work is important and we care about what we do; only the talented and motivated need apply.

SDSF is looking to hire a full time Project Manager (PM) to join our team in San Diego and begin project work immediately.

PMs can expect to travel nationally on a regular basis as SDSF performs installations across the continental US. Applicants must be 25 years or older as access to a rental car is required as a function of the job while on travel. PMs must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager

  • Pre-design and planning: The PM is responsible for producing a critical path framework and creating the project’s schedule and timeline.

  • Resource allocation: The PM needs to plan and budget for all resources, from basic building blocks and tools to manpower.

  • Team leadership: The PM recruits the building and management teams and allocates tasks. Since they are the leader, they set the tone for the project — and therefore need excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Customer relations: The PM will have regular interaction with customers and will therefore require experience in communicating with commercial clients, handling conflict resolution, managing expectations, and being the conduit between our operations team and the customer.

  • Monitoring progress: The PM is responsible for ensuring the project progresses through each phase successfully, on time, and on budget. They’ll be in charge of documenting each step and communicating effectively with stakeholders. They also need to troubleshoot when issues arise.

  • Budget management: The PM is the go-to person for all things budget-related. They’ll be the ones setting the budget for the project and are accountable for sticking to it.

Required experience for all Project Manager applicants:

  • 8+ years of experience in construction project management - preferably in commercial or fire & security project management
  • Experience and training in safety protocol for commercial construction
  • Skilled with technology - Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints

Pay and Benefits:

$80,000-$100,000 salary depending on experience. Use of company vehicles. Medical and 401K/Retirement Benefits available through our payroll provider partners.

We look forward to reviewing your application and adding your skills to our team. Our customer list includes Sola Salons, Woodhouse Spas, Rituals Cosmetics, Lush Boutique, Coinflip, Heavy Hitters, Pacific Steel & Recycling (North West), Good Deal Charlie (South East), and many more.

San Diego Security and Fire provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. Cannabis Friendly company.
