About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head Grower to join our client who is based in Quebec, the Head Grower will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and improving of the culture program ensuring successful crops in production through to harvest in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production schedule including, communicating changes due to plant needs.

• Ensure Production Schedules are suitable to Plant needs and are attainable from an Agronomic view.

• Responsible for review and revisions of all SOP’s related to production.

• Ensure all direct reports are trained and in compliance with all relevant SOP’s, Best practices, and Fertigation.

• Monitor and document plant development and communicate the crop status and roadblocks weekly with the senior management team of the facility.

• Monitor, oversee and control the environment and fertigation using Damatex.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workplace.

• Keep the Best Practice Document accurate.

• Ensure compliance under GPP regulations.

• Provide /propose operational improvements related to Plant Health.

• Work in collaboration with the Processing, Maintenance, Quality, Marketing, Supply and Demand, Finance Department to meet the demand at cost.

Requirements

• Must have Degree, Diploma or Higher in Horticulture/Agronomy

• 10 years work experience in Large scale crop production

• Experience in Floriculture or management of multiple crop rotations

• Bilingual in English and French is an asset but not necessary

• Experience with Microsoft Office

• Must be able to pass security background check

The Cultivation Manager reports to the Plant Manager.</p><p>Duties and responsibilities</p><p>• Managing 14,000 sq ft.</p><p>• Performs all the tasks in the grow cycle, including transplanting, feeding, cloning, cropping and inventory management.</p><p>• Hires, trains, and leads a cultivation team with the discretion of the Plant Manager.</p><p>• Working directly with the Plant Manager &amp; QAP to ensure the quantity, mix and yield of strains planted and produced will support sales goals and market needs.</p><p>• Sets cultivation goals for the manufacturing facilities.</p><p>• Develops growing and greenhouse utilization plans to maximize growing efficiency for products.</p><p>• Ensure SOPs are established, approved, and followed in daily processes and that all cultivation related standard operating procedures are followed, including inventory management, security and cleanliness SOPs</p><p>• Routine daily activities required to ensure plant maintenance and general operation of the cultivation areas.</p><p>• Routine daily activities required to ensure clones and mother maintenance and general operation of the propagation room to ensure adequate crop production.</p><p>• Measuring and reporting performance metrics and criteria with respect to cloning, potting, and other activities.</p><p>• Establishes and implements plans for establishing a perpetual harvest.</p><p>• Identifies and secures new tools, equipment and items needed to implement new techniques and processes.</p><p>• Drives improvement in planting techniques and yields.</p><p>• Sets budget for cultivation operations at the manufacturing facility.</p><p>• Provide insight and communicate on Safety related matters to ensure the cultivation is operating up to required governmental regulations and SOPs.</p><p>• Ensuring all products are safe and effective for patient use. Develop and enforce proper product and work-in-process tracking, movement, product security and compliance with Health Canada and other applicable regulations or company procedures.</p><p>• Provide insight and communicate on Facility &amp; Maintenance related matters to ensure the cultivation is operating for uninterrupted production and efficiency improvements. Identify, lead, and develop talent to maximize individual, team, and organizational effectiveness to meet company goals.</p><p>• Participate in Glen Valley Cannabis innovation programs and in new product development and implementation.</p><p>• Budgeting and P/L responsibilities when required.</p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>• We're looking for a strong professional with a background in horticulture or agriculture</p><p>• A minimum of 5 years experience in a related industry, such as horticulture or agriculture.</p><p>• A minimum of 3 years experience leading/supervising a team.</p><p>• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture is preferred.
