The Fellowship:

LATF is hiring fellows for its Legit Pathways Academy, a career pathways program training emerging adults ages 18–25 for professional careers within regulated legal industries.

Job Title:

R3 Research Fellow (“Fellow”)

Job Classification:

The Fellow is a project-based job, subject to the terms of executed contract agreements with LATF.

Job Compensation:

The Fellow's compensation is a monthly pay rate of up to $2,500. The Fellow is an independent contractor position.

Job Summary:

The Fellow is a research assistant and career development position assigned to work with Legit Pathways Academy (“LPA”), an R3 Grant Program conducting research related to the war on drugs, including the following research areas: (a) Civil Legal Aid; (b) Re-entry; (c) Youth Development; (d) Economic Development; and (e) Violence Prevention.

Job Responsibilities:

The Fellow’s role includes assisting the company with:

(1) analyzing and conducting research related to the R3 Program;

(2) performing legal research and legal analysis;

(3) assisting with legal and business writing projects;

(4) presenting legal and business research; and

(5) participating in career and wellness training.

Job Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:

The Fellow should hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent and an interest in the cannabis and hemp industries.

Work Conditions:

The Fellow must live on Chicago's Westside and be available for in-person and remote program activities across Chicago's Westside.

This is a general office environment as well as a remote work environment. Regular travel is not expected but may occasionally occur around scheduled events. The position requires work in a stationary position for extended periods of time and operation of computer and other office equipment.
