Role

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the finance operations specializing in maintenance of all accounts receivable functions.


Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for maintaining and reconciling all aspects of Accounts receivable Ledger
  • Manage, organize, verify correct sales invoices with Sales orders
  • Resolve any discrepancies and handle accounts receivable (A/R) inquiries
  • Responsible for ensuring correct sales tax compliance (GST/PST & USA STATE TAX)
  • Accurately reconcile customer accounts including dispersing monthly statements
  • Track payments to terms
  • Research payment discrepancies
  • Build and maintain relationships with customer accounting teams to resolve account queries and collections
  • Investigate and resolve problems forwarded from customers &/or our sales & service
  • Prepare week ending and month ending reporting for management review
  • Support month end processes
  • Assist in other areas of finance tasks as required including Accounts Payable cover.


Qualifications

  • Completion or working towards a post-secondary certificate or diploma in an accounting program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience with accounting software & intermediate Excel
  • 2-3 years of related work experience considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent problem solving and judgement skills
  • High level of due diligence & accuracy required for this position
  • Strong ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
