Client Details

I am partnered with the CFO at a fast growing, newly publicly traded cannabis company in Chicago. Their revenue has increased 196% year over year and they show no signs of slowing down as they are looking to bring on an Accounting Manager to their team! They are looking for someone who comes from the corporate accounting space that wants to utilize their experience to position responsible for the establishment of procedures and reconciliations and supporting the monthly-close process, while managing a team of 5.

Description

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close to ensure proper preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

• Review the monthly financial results and the analysis of P&L in terms of entity and consolidation

• Create efficient processes and procedures related to journal entry recording and account reconciliations

• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting guidelines

• Manage the consolidation of entries and roll-forwards in order to ensure the proper preparation of financial statements

• Train, develop, and mentor staff

• Collaborate with external auditors to provide support and assistance as needed

• Prepare internal reports and analysis on variances on a monthly basis

Profile

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

• CPA a plus

• 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting

• Management experience required

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
