Accounting Clerk

We are a locally owned accounting and tax preparation business serving clients across the country. We're seeking an energetic, professional Accounting Clerk to join our team and work directly with the owner to perform essential bookkeeping and assigned tasks quickly and accurately. This is an in-office only position. Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Using bookkeeping software and spreadsheets
  • Posting financial transactions
  • Receiving and recording expenses and payments
  • Producing a variety of reports including income statements and balance sheets
  • Processing Payroll
  • Checking for accuracy in reports, figures and postings
  • Reconciling and reporting any discrepancies found in the records
  • Interacting with management, customers, vendors and customers

The position is responsible for tracking, verifying and reporting financial activities including preliminary investigations and related reconciliations essential in preparation of reports to internal and external parties. The position significantly contributes to preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual statements by coordinating, processing and validating general ledger entries as well as providing support to the corporate accounting team as required.</p><p>The successful candidate requires a strong foundation in processes, procedures and information systems enabling to quickly identify issues, conduct necessary research and prepare documentation supporting proposed resolutions. It is essential that the incumbent be a self-starter who is able to interpret information and effectively evaluate situation to reach logical conclusions and exercise good judgment, ownership and problem analysis.
