Our client, a Cannabis Licensed Producer located in Windsor-Essex, requires a Vice President of Business Development and Sales with national reach, exceptional creativity, and relentless drive.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Business Development and Sales will be an integral member of the senior management team and lead the full marketing and sales function including internal and external brand management, retail, strategic insights, commercialization, and creative services.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead the development and deployment of the sales and marketing team’s multi-brand strategies to achieve the organization’s short and long-term national goals
  • Analyze market data and trends to lead the development of actionable opportunities
  • Negotiate opportunities and oversee execution of related agreements
  • Lead social media and website development
  • Lead demand planning and forecasting strategy
  • Provide data and insights driven approach to strategy development and tactical execution across the business and brands, with a strong consumer orientation
  • Define and oversee planning, development, and execution of multiple brands in terms of brand activation including the support of vision, messaging, and strategy
  • Enhance creative efforts with in-house creative team and external partners, ensuring creative execution reflects brand personalities and values
  • Review economic feasibility of new product concepts
  • Lead innovation pipeline ensuring offering meets market demands, ensuring cross-functional collaboration throughout the process, from ideation, to research and development, to go-to-market planning and commercialization in market
  • Interface with internal departments including Production, Processing, Manufacturing, Quality & Regulatory as part of a coordinated product commercialization effort
  • Lead Sales team to align sales, pricing, merchandising, cannabis industry trends and marketing strategies, with a keen eye on current and future markets
  • Develop strategic plans to create opportunities, execute forecasts, and plan contingencies
  • Build, coach and develop a strong team by harnessing their passions and talents and coach on performance
  • Assume a leadership role across the business, with a deep understanding of operations and the ability to create strong cross-functional communication and collaboration to support overall business objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key agencies, local partners, and cross functional teams to achieve company goals
  • Establish clear metrics that correspond and drive towards short and long-term goals
  • Oversee marketing and sales budgets, including budget reviews and approvals
  • Support the creation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS: -

  • 7-10 years of senior level sales and marketing experience, with proven experience developing and executing a successful sales and marketing strategy at scale
  • Experience in the Canadian Cannabis Industry is a definite asset
  • BA in Marketing, Business Administration or other related field
  • Proven success building a diverse marketing team
  • Experience in high growth consumer-oriented company that has fundamentally defined or reshaped consumer perception
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Experienced in developing market strategies and marketing initiatives to maximize business opportunities and consumer reaction in diverse markets
  • Combined creative, innovative and analytical approach to marketing and sales
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, including budget management
  • Knowledge developing high impact marketing and sales collateral materials
  • Experienced in building metrics to measure impact of marketing and sales efforts
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory criminal record check
  • Compensation includes $90K - $120K negotiable based on experience + 25 % bonus incentive
