POSITION: Biomass Technician
MANAGER: Extraction Manager
LOCATION: Dimondale, MI
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for properly maintaining Biomass inventory, inventory data, and preparing Biomass stock for extraction. This role will communicate with the extraction team to provide all Biomass needed for daily production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Track and maintain all Biomass inventory, maintain accurate data and product reports.
• Organize stock by date and maintain proper storage.
• Prioritize stock for extraction.
• Prepare Biomass for extraction team, including inspection of product for irregularities.
• Understand the trichrome development and qualities of Biomass stock, preparation, and packaging.
• Assist in process activities including setup, operations, and breakdown of extraction rooms as needed.
• Track and report waste.
• Communicate regularly with management and extraction team.
• Follow all SOP's and safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
Salary$15 - $15 USD per hour
Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be 21 years or older and be able to pass a background check.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in direct contact with cannabis plants (must not have cannabis allergies, sensitivities).
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible and adaptable.
• Strong time management, multitasking and organizational skills.
• Excellent data entry/reporting sills with strong attention to detail and accuracy, meticulous.
• Dependable and personable with great communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Must be open to working a flexible schedule including nights and/or weekends.
• Must be able to stand for long periods, move about freely, sit to stand, bend, stoop, squat kneel, push/pull, and must be able easily list and carry 50lbs. Must be able to see (including colors), hear and communicate clearly.
Desired Skills
• Cannabis extractions and market knowledge preferred.
• Previous experience in Cannabis or Botanical processing environment.
• Laboratory/field sampling experience preferred but will consider factory manufacturing experience.

Prioritize horticultural tasks, develop work schedules, and coordinate their implementation with senior staff.Assist with monitoring and tracking soil and plant health through tissue and soil tests, working closely with vendors and their agronomists on long term soil viability plans.Assist the Crop Production Manager and Cultivation Supervisor in monitoring soil moisture probes and field walks to determine water needs for the cannabis plants.Be ready to assist in the irrigation and fertigation of the cannabis plants when asked to do so by senior staff.Must be able to keep accurate records of total amounts of water and nutrients applied to a specific range and record that information in a Nitrogen use Log.Train and supervise staff in all aspects of plant maintenance and development including soil preparation, planting & transplanting, mulching, watering, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, propagating, raking, tree & brush cutting, chipping, and the proper use of shovels, trowels, fan rakes, grading rakes, spades, digging forks, pickaxes, brooms, hand shears, hand saws, loppers, pole pruners & pole saws, wheelbarrows, fertilizer spreaders, garden carts, ladders, and other hand tools.Track hours of CCA staff as well as any temporary staff assigned to cultivation and work directly with the cultivation supervisors, payroll and HR departments regarding staffing needs and payroll tracking.Train and supervise staff in the proficient operation of, garden utility vehicles, tractors, pickup/dump trucks, chainsaws, chippers, and other power equipment following CCA safety protocols and regulatory standards.Provide hands-on assistance with the completion of work tasks, when needed while tracking and documenting field activities as directed by supervisors or management. Evaluate cultivation needs and supplies inventory. Work with the purchasing department on inventory replenishment of BOM needs.Monitor gardens and plant collections for pests and diseases.
